LIMS software

The requirements for laboratory work are constantly growing. Increasing quantities of data, strict regulations and careful sample storage are placing increasing demands on your staff. Here you can learn about the features of our modern labware which support your company.

What is LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)?

A LIMS is designed to facilitate the organization and workflow of laboratories. The software-based solution utilizes a central database of samples that brings together all results, instruments and metadata. This ensures that the workflow and data tracing in the laboratory remain efficient, secure and compliant with regulations.

Advantages of a LIMS

Sample management

Scientists can digitally document, track and manage controls or samples. This eliminates error-prone manual processes.

Batch management and release

Monitors batch usage and performance, assigns batches to staff. Unsatisfactory batches are automatically identified and recalled if necessary.

Stability studies

Lab management software simplifies the set-up and precise execution of studies. Documentation of the impact of storage and humidity.

Environmental monitoring

Production environment testing. Before and after checks of batch production or water quality in a distribution system. Each sample is traceable.

Internal reporting

Sample storage, use and sample results as well as your data analysis are automatically documented in a test log. Regulations are strictly observed.

Reporting to customers

Complete transparency, meticulous work and documentation of high standards optimize customer confidence and external reporting.

Minimized resource consumption

The automated data collection of the laboratory information management system saves time and money. Staff can find samples quickly and easily.

Advantages of our LIMS system

Our LIMS system provides support for all laboratory processes – from laboratory receipt to automated test certificate generation and sample management. It optimizes the internal flow of information, reduces manual work and helps prevent incorrect entries.

Your laboratory staff is supported by the integrated resource management: valuable time is saved by eliminating the need to manually enter and organize data. This allows you to better concentrate on data analysis.

Time saved by LIMS software

  • Integration of QDA modules and automated device connection: approx. 35%
  • Creation of new test plans: up to 50%
  • Order creation with LIMS order management: up to 50%
  • Creation of certificates or laboratory reports with the integrated LIMS report/certificate tool: up to 75%

Features of our LIMS system

Laboratories follow various, often very complex, rules for approval processes. By using electronic signatures and the dual control principle, our laboratory software supports you based on the following configuration process.

Preparation phase

1. Workflow creation including additional instructions, descriptions and images
2. Connection of test and measurement systems
3. Resource planning
4. Sample preparation

Test phase

1. Carrying out the tests

Results

1. Assess results
2. Create certificates
3. Reporting
4. Archiving for traceability

Flexible and dynamic solution

Our modular software solution for quality management manages with just one piece of infrastructure – regardless of the number of systems used. The integrated software architecture offers you interfaces to PLM, CMM, ERP and MES systems. Thanks to Unicode, it supports multiple languages and is therefore ideal for worldwide use.

It is possible to individually select from numerous options and combinations. For instance, you may start with two modules and add more if your quality assurance requirements and production processes change. All test and measurement equipment can be fully integrated.

LIMS software integration

We offer various types of connections for peripheral devices. Standard serial interfaces such as USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and file transfer connections are available. File transfer can take place bidirectionally via API and/or web services.

Script interfaces mean it is possible to process almost any file in our laboratory information management system. There are also many standard file interfaces that the end user can easily configure if required. Users connect to QDA via the QDA UI. Analyses and reports can be created directly in the UI, and selected data can be exported to a variety of different file formats for third-party applications.

We are able to offer you any integration option, depending on your wishes:

SaaS

All-inclusive: QDA + database can be hosted on Amazon Workspace, Azure, Oracle, Citrix, Terminal Server, etc., the choice is yours. You only need a login for this.

OnPremise

We install the laboratory information management system at your premises.

Laboratory IT extensions

The LIMS system can also be used in conjunction with an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN). This organizes laboratory experiments for each user or tests performed in a personalized way, while the LIMS software focuses on tracking samples and collecting and reporting data.

Our software provides integrated application security through the definition and management of user roles. Support from Active Directory ensures seamless integration with your existing Active Directory, QDA role synchronization with AD groups, and management of users across the company. Support for PKI cards is also guaranteed, as well as the secure encryption of data according to the SSL/TSL standard. Security standards, such as those for password encryption according to the AES-256 standard, are also adhered to.
