Automotive industry

The automotive industry is a key economic industry and has been the engine of many economies for years. For decades they have made a name for themselves as leaders in quality – especially in the premium segment. Challenges such as the complexity of variants and the guarantees of product quality and safety along the entire value chain now sound almost commonplace thanks to their efforts. Because the industry faces ever larger changes and challenges, the automotive industry wants to become the driving force in the transformation for the mobility of the future.

Utilizing the opportunities of digitization and the circular economy in a way where fewer resources are used and even less are being wasted. Concepts that are indispensable in quality management and have long been at the core of QDA’s activities. We have been helping automotive customers for 30+ years to digitize their processes and ultimately their production. Going away from paper and spreadsheets to a CAQ system, which fully supports the processes in quality management.

With the Edgeone platform, we now offer solutions that cover the entire ecosystem from supply chains all the way to customer interaction. In addition to our “apps” in the area of quality management our automotive customers, in particular, have an increasing need to use the platform to include their own developed apps in the context of the “digital factory”.

Using artificial intelligence and machine learning, customers can identify anomalies directly. Especially with new technologies, such as in the field of electromobility, important findings can be gained and quickly incorporated directly into production.

Our customers from the automotive and supplier industries use not only our SPC software and calibration management software but also utilize the following QDA modules:

Integrated advance quality planning

The integrated quality planning solution from QDA supports the use of quality synergies in the areas of APQP, process flow diagram, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), process control plan, and Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) and guarantees you a logical and consistent approach to the activities in product development. This means that manual new document copies and manual updates are a thing of the past.

Body Shop Management

QDA supports the handling and maintenance of the enormously increased amount of data – also with graphic support, in order to make the increasingly difficult discussions of increasingly complex parts in an international environment possible in the first place. Our Body Shop Management Software consolidates master and measurement data in order to check joint connections more easily and enables interaction with different joining technologies (mixed connections such as gluing and spot welding, non-positive connections such as press, rivet, or screw connections, positive connections such as shrink or clamp connections, material connections such as welded, soldered or glued connections); preferably via ultrasound to operate non-destructively.

Color management

The same color can look different on different materials, components, and from different suppliers. To prevent this, it is important to measure and evaluate color metrics. QDA helps to provide the measurement data and to evaluate them in relation to components, suppliers, and processes.

Supplier management

QDA’s supplier management software supports supplier integration through electronic data exchange. The system enables you to set up target agreements with your suppliers, reduce the number of incoming goods inspections, document your supplier evaluation, create evaluations and manage certificates.

System integration

In particular, our customers in the automotive industry repeatedly need to integrate our CAQ software into existing systems. When designing our system, we made sure that we can connect third-party systems quickly and easily. In addition to the certified and S4 / Hana compatible SAP interface, we have a variety of interfaces to ERP or MES systems. QDA is the market leader in the connection of measuring equipment.
